Does time heal all wounds?

MYTHBUSTERS : DOES TIME HEAL ALL WOUNDS?

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." --John 16:33

No, time does not heal all wounds.

We have to take initiative in life!
It won't just go away with time.  Don't use distractions or procrastination!

"It's what you do with the time that heals"

1.) Be HONEST about your past. (pain)
-Don't push it aside/Don't run!

2.) Allow people to HELP you.
-Don't let your pride get in the way--Ask for help!

while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. --1 Corinthians 12: 24-27

Allow people into your life and be honest with them!

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. --Romans 12:15

If someone is honest with you and tell you their pain, don't teach or lecture them. Your presense is all they need.  It's not answers that will help.

Then they sat on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights. No one said a word to him, because they saw how great his suffering was. --Job 2:13

3.) Focus on your future.
Get your attention off the past and focus on the future that God has for you.
---let go of your past.
Ask yourself: Do I want to get well or do I want to get even?
Getting even will not help!  It is a temporary solution.

Let go of the people that have hurt you!  FORGIVE!

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. --Colossians 3:13

God forgives me, so forgive others.

"To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." --C.S. Lewis

Resentment is clinging to the past -- Feeling backwards.
Let Go! Forgive God; even though he hasn't done anything to you it sometimes feels like He has.
Let Go! Forgive that person that hurt you; focus on your future.

Time will not heal the pain of the past... What you do with the time will....

"I Lift My Hands"
Chris Tomlin

Be still, there is a healer
His love is deeper than the sea
His mercy, it is unfailing
His arms are a fortress for the weak

Let faith arise
Let faith arise

I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart, these things I remember
You are faithful, God, forever

Be still, there is a river
That flows from Calvary's tree
A fountain for the thirsty
Pure grace that washes over me

So let faith arise
Let faith arise
Open my eyes
Open my eyes

I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart, these things I remember
You are faithful, God
You are faithful, God, forever
